[Kenwood] Installing Piexx Board in TS-930

I'm trying to install a Piexx board in my TS-930.  The steps are relatively
straightforward but I'm having trouble disconnecting the 16 white cable
plugs around the perimeter of the old microprocessor board.  According to
the instructions, the plugs should be disconnected while the board is still
mounted in place.  However, it is very difficult to grip the plugs and
pull/pry them out.  Any suggestions?  I would like to avoid damaging the old
board in case I want to reinstall it at some point.
