[Kenwood] TS940S Relay RL2

Does anyone know what Relay RL2 does in a TS-940S?

I was experiencing an intermittent loss of 40-50 dB of receive sensitivity 
and traced it to this relay. Fortunately, it was pretty easy to trace 
because the sensitivity was poor much more than it was good.

Tapping on relay would cause the sensitivity to come and go.  The solder 
connections seemed to be good so I replaced the relay.  All has been well 
now for the past several hours.

It's not readily apparent to me while looking at the schematic what this 
relay's purpose is.  It is located on the RF board (page 90 & 91 of the 
Service Manual).
