A local ham here where I live contacted me that he would like to get back 
into the hobby and he is looking for a good dual band radio that is not to 
complicated to operate, etc.

He prefers a mobile radio that will take a power supply.

He had a stroke abt 3 yrs ago and wants something pretty simple, but with 
some good features

Suggestions...Comments.

Brian,

Tell your friend to buy a TMG707A, dual-bander.  I heard they were
discontinued but now I understand they are still available and it was the
V7A that Kenwood discontinued.  I currently own 2...one in the car and one
in the shack.  The virtue of the 707 is that it's user friendly AND can be
programmed from a PC.  Check the e-ham reviews and then buy one.
