[Kenwood] TS940

Tom, if you get a good one, they are good radios. The one I had seemed to 
have a lot of trouble with the fan. This one would put out around 120 watts 
out, and did not have the foldback problem of some of todays radios. I think 
you can still buy the Piexx  board to go in for rig control. When mine 
worked, it worked well. But it eventually just got to the place I was tired 
of having it fixed (I'll admit that I'm not much when it comes to working on 
radios) and I think the PS was out of it this time, so I sold it to a friend 
who has a 940 that works flawlessly, as a parts radio. When mine worked, I 
thought it was a decent enough radio. Nice sized, good quality knobs, and I 
remember the knob for the vfo had nice feel to it. I guess the reason that 
sticks out in my mind is that I used it in dx contests, where I had to do a 
lot of search & pounce operating.
