It's not Kenwood, but the documentation I got with the Inrad roofing
filter for my FT-1000MP MK V claims that the filter doesn't degrade
NB performance, and that it reduces cross-modulation caused by
strong signals that are outside its passband (4KHz) since it is placed
ahead of the NB sampling point.

Maybe you can talk W2VJN into coming up with a similar roofing
filter for the Kenwood TS-950SDX.
