[Kenwood] ts 520 mic which one will work

The MC-50 was originally sold along with the 520 and will work well.  I
get good comments on audio quality with a MC-50 and a stock TS-520s.

In any case, you need a high impedenance mic, not one of the lower
impedence mics that are common today.

On output power, you need to check it against a watt meter or some other
source.  The RF meter setting is completely relative - you can adjust the
sensitivity to whatever you want, it's only used for peaking.  Your system
may be working fine as is.
