THANKS....I did not know that....

I was thinking that if one had a marine license, and the radio would operate
on this frequency then all bases were covered...

Interesting that the radio itself must be certified to operate on the
frequencies.....

Marine Band equipment needs to be FCC certified, which a modified TS-850 
will certainly not be.  Making such modifications is just as illegal as 
modifying it to transmit on the CB band. I would hope that no one on this 
list is indifferent enough to assist in such endeavors.

Buy a certified Marine radio!
