[Kenwood] TS850 freq. Transmit changes for marine use

I don't mean to contradict you because I am by no means an expert on this issue but comparing a ham rig modified to marine to a ham rig modified to TX on the CB band is like comparing apples to oranges. There are major differences in the two. On thing the CB band is limited to 4 watts AM and 12 watts SSB and most convertable ham rigs can far exceed that. As for the marine band I don't think they have the that low of a max regulated power. I think it is much closer to the max ham rated power. I do know of many marine nets that are conducted on the hams bands so they can't be that far off of each other. I would have to see it in writing to believe it is illegal. But this again is just my reconing and not known fact on my part.
