[Kenwood] TS-850S receiver failure

When I power up my TS-850S there is no noise on receive.  The red "on air" light lights up when the transceiver is in receive mode.  When keying in transmit mode the rig puts out normal power in tune, SSB, and CW modes.  When transmitting the red "on air" light becomes brighter than when it is lit up inappropriately in the receive mode.  The rig was working perfectly and this problem developed suddenly.  Any advice would be appreciated.  Also any advice regarding a reliable service technician would be appreciated.  Thanks.   Bill...K6SQL
