[Kenwood] TS-570D Concerns.

I have a TS-570D with one antenna connected to ANT 1.  The antenna is a 10m
dipole with 135' of RG-213 between the antenna and radio.  Last night I was
listening to WWV on 10 MHz.  I bumped the antenna button and the radio
switched to port 2 which has no antenna or co-ax connected, just a plastic
dust cover.  I could still hear WWV quite clearly, but about 30db lower than
through port 1.  I tuned down through the 9 MHz broadcasts and could hear
several stations though weak.  I disconnected the antenna from port 1 and
the signals disappeared on both antenna settings.  I have never used ANT 2,
and off the top of my head I would expect much greater isolation between the
two ports.  Is there some sort of problem here?

On the inside of the radio, connected to the antenna ports, there are two
electronic components in glass envelopes.  They are about the size of 1/2W
resistors, the glass envelopes are larger.  What are these?  One of the two
is fried beyond recognition, I suspect due to lightning in 1997.
