[Kenwood] Possible answer for the OM that has intermittant display

The display on the ts-850 is a flouresent backlite  Multicolor LCD  array.
IT is like  projection TV.Clear LCD, colored film. THE BACK LIGHTRUNS  ON 
HIGH VOLTAGE 50-75 VOLTS.
 
Check the high voltge inverter. When the display is working, There is a  long 
flousent bulb.
Check with display when on, you should be able to find 50-60V
 
   If  display goes out, check display voltage.N0 volt, bad  inverter.
The inverter gets it's Vcc from the8 volt regulated line.
No 8V any where else in rig, no TX.
