[Kenwood] Discussion With Kenwood Rep Regarding Future HF Rigs

Hi Brian, John, Avi,

it is true, Adi. Bad cold solder joints hamper Kenwood's. I did resolve the 
problem with TS-930S by purchasing PIEXX board (Digital unit) replacement. 
For other radios aka ts-440s only resoldering could resolve the problem In 
dead extreme some of the Kenwooder's did replacement of all capacitors and 
reworked the power supply and etc....It is not that I defend Kenwood, but 
all the ICOM stuff we ever have had in our club went south! Every single 
piece! (IC745,IC751A,IC970H, IC706MKIIG) .Yaesu were ok for most of the 
time. I did sold two (2) FT1KMP and bought 1990 TS950SD. Does not sound 
reasonable but I like the Kenwood sound and can not help it! Did try other 
stuff as well but my ultimate satisfaction comes when using and listening to 
Kenwood.

p.s.a bit emotional post but, hey that is hobby which pardon me for likening 
or dislikening material stuff!
p.s. My ever first ssb/cw radio in club waaaaay back in 1968 was TS-510 
TRIO!
