[Kenwood] TS-570D Question

Hello Pete.....
    I had a similar problem with my TS-950SDX a couple of years ago. It 
turned out the radio had an IC problem. I found the information in the 
Kenwood Technical notes section of the Kenwood website. I was able to 
purchase and install an upgraded IC and the problem disappeared. I can't 
speak for the 570 radio, but it's quite possibly a similar problem. The only 
way I can describe the effect with the original chip, is the radio would 
"hiccup" during transmission. I could 'see' the hiccup on my outboard power 
meter and was told by listeners that they could hear a dropout in my signal. 
Might be worth checking with Kenwood, if you haven't already done so.
