[Kenwood] "New" TS-600

I just purchased a TS-600. I have the following questions:
How rugged are the finals? The radio is rated at 10w, but will it
tolerate SWR very well? Being a mid-70s rig, I am doubtful it will have
foldback circuitry.
Also, are there any recommended mods to improve performance on either
receive or transmit? I have looked on the internet and have not found
any.
Any other helpful hints would be appreciated.
