[Kenwood] Good Samaritian

HUH? Get an attorney?   For $160?  On what basis would an attorney argue? If 
the item was delivered, and there was no sales contract stipulating the 
terms of sale, he/she wouldn't get very far, except to make the victim even 
poorer! Get real!

While you may have emailed him that morning, not all of us check our email 
all day long. He may have read your message later in the day after he sent 
it. Also, don't go by the USPS times. I have sent packages out at 8am which 
were not stamped by the USPS until the last postmark time of the day. 
Sometimes the counter person will throw your package in a pile and stamp 
them all at once at the end of their shift. I am not supporting his actions, 
but do have to look at both sides of the transaction.

Now on the other hand, I can't see why he would not work with you to refund 
your purchase, less any USPS charges he incurred, provided you return the 
item(s) to him. I would think that any reasonable ham would offer to do so.

Also, what exactly did you get for $160?  IIRC, an IF-232C only ran around 
$125 or so new. It sounds like he got you good, and he knows it, thus his 
refusal to refund your money. Not the best way to operate in the ham radio 
circle- word gets around fast. That $160 will cost him more in the long run!

I hope someone can offer you some assistance and work out an arrangement 
with this individual. Best of luck!
