[Kenwood] I would not use 200hz filters In the TS-850. use dual 500's or 400's with PBT.

I find 200hz or 250 too narrow. You may find yourself skipping back and  
fourth past the station you are trying to work. There is also more ringing as  the 
other OM stated.
 
  Also one of my favorite features on the TS-850 is the twin slope  variable 
BW PBT.
Use the 400hz or 500hz cw filter. Then should there be another station that  
close, use the twin PBT to narrow down more. You have independent control of  
narrowing down from above or below the station you are working. You can set 
both  PBT's at 12 oclock position. That really narrows you down to less than 
200hz.  You also eliminate rcvr noise and hiss.
 
   You may find that you only have to narrow down from above the  station 
your working.
I would use 400hz in the first and 2nd IF. Then use the excellent   dual 
slope PBT to get a unique  asymetrical bandwidth of 300hz or  less. For some 
reason the QRM is still there, notch him  out.
