I purchased, about 2 years ago, a TS-940S with the IF-10B Computer Interface
Kit installed. Also on the top right side there is box mounted. The box has
2 rectangular knobs and a push button switch. One knob is pot and the other
is a 5 position switch. On the back is a 5 pin Din type connector and a
miniature phone plug labeled TT-253. The box is connected to the radio via
7 wires using a miniature connector.
I am told that the box is most likely a CW Iambic keyer. I would appreciate
it if somebody could confirm this or give me an idea what this box does for
a living. The reason I want to know al this is that I will be selling most
of my amateur radio equipment and Boatanchor collection. I will need the
info to describe the radio when I post it for sale. The Boatanchors include
a Collins R-390A, an R-390 and a Hammarlund SP600-J1. My reason for selling
is that I will be moving into Senior Citizens resident within 6 months.
Antennas are nor allowed.
There a few problems with the TS-940. The Auto Antenna tuner and the Memory
Functions do not work. I think the Memory does not work because the IF-10B
is installed. Need conformation on this and any comments on the Auto Tuner.
Any help is appreciated.
