[Kenwood] Modified VHF/UHF rigs

they are made to be easily modified because the mfr wants to be able to 
make one unit that will be useable anywhere in the world with a minimum 
of work to adapt it to local regulations.    if a co. like kenwood made 
a different model of an ht design with all the hardware programmed to 
work only to U.S. codes you wouldn't buy it because it would be 4 times 
more than yaesu or icom with the same features.
