making too much sense isn't your only problem.  you know too much about technology.  in order to boost BPL you have to have majored in art history, or English literature...something like that with enough technological understanding to flip a light switch, so that you will believe anything the industry tells you, then have an MBA so you can read a prospectus.  that's what this is all about.  this isn't going to be won on the national level (barring the miracle of a federal court intervening) so it will have to be fought locally wherever these things get setup.  basically in a given municipality, the local hams are going to have to organize and become enough of a p.i.t.a. to make it not worth the hassle to the utility.

    You would think they would be more interested in looking into wirless
access. Using the power lines just seems to me like antiquated technology.
But it sounds good to the masses. Guess that's why I'll never make it in
politics. I make to much sense.

That isn't all.  Yesterday John Kerry was here in Las Vegas for the AARP
convention.  When asked about BPL, John Kerry said he is in favor of BPL.
He just said he supports BPL as a means of getting the internet to rural
areas so kids can have a better education and wants to push its installation
and use.  The point is he wants to push BPL.

BPL is NOT the greatest threat to HF radio for hams
at present. WINLINK is a far greater threat, and ARRL is
endorsing it.

Wait until one of these unattended high power digital
pests starts interfering with your QSO and you will understand.
