alan, it sounds like the 100 v. is too much. I looked at the manual online and did not find any rating for the reed relay in the rig that can be used to key the amp, but since the 922 is an older generation amp my hunch is that the keying v. is too high, a problem the unmodified SB220s have also.  The relay contacts are probably pretty small and close together and that much potential would fry them.  Since an interface is needed for ICOM rigs to key the 922, I bet one is needed for other modern rigs also.  I would invest in an amp keying box such as the AmpKeyer  http://www.theheathkitshop.com/ampkeyer.html
