[Kenwood] Kenwood 733 Help

I had the dirty connector problem as well.  The
faceplate (as I recall) has a pushpin style connector
on it and the radio has flat, gold pads on which the
pushpins push.  I'm surprised Kenwood used this type
of connector because of the unreliability of the
connection, due to corrosion, especially as the years
go by.  I took a cotton swab and some alcohol and cleaned
the pins and the pads.  This fixed all the problems ...
for a couple of months.  As long as you cleaned the
connections every couple of months things were OK.  But
the problem would always return and I finally sold the
radio just because of that problem.
