[Kenwood] TS-820s VFO problem

Hi Clif, thanks for the reply.
The jumper is in place on the back, the digital counter display is
working but and shows the correct VFO frequency (verified with external
signal generator, but the vfo will not change frequency. Looks like
I need to remove the VFO to clean/lubricate as you suggest.
>From the manual, is is not clear to me if you have to remove the front
panel before removing the vfo. Can the VFO be removed without taking
off the front panel?
Any further assistance would be appreciated.
