 Kenwood can be very slick with S or SE.
S usually translated out to we are going to drop the rig.

  The difference between a TS-520 and 520s was huge. They will give features 
then take away some.

The 520s you either won or lost. IMHO the DX switch on the 520 worked much 
better then the audio speech processor.

  They added 160m but took away the 12Volt inverter.

   I believe on the  900(s) they went with matched output tubes. So you did 
not have to risk 800V.
