[Kenwood] VFO-240 on TS-530S problem

So do you think this is a problem with the VFO-240?=20

I would think that if the VFO wasn't working I would not get an
apparently correct frequency display on the digital display on the
530..? The digital display tracks very close to dial indication for the
corresponding VFO depending on which is selected on the VFO-240 Function
switch..

When the vfo stops, the mixer stops. No mixer output will drop the
"hiss" to the noise floor of the IF (lower is better) and the s-meter
should drop to zero (no signal). The audio will drop to the noise
floor of the audio/IF chain since no signal is reaching the
detector/bfo (again lower is better). Sounds as if your TS-530S is
working exactly as it should.=20
