Hi Bill,

start with measuring the voltages on rectifier board and further on, on
digital unit as well. "The mother of all troubles", at largest extent in
930s and 940s are digital units. I would not advice any major
troubleshooting without service manual. It is a must!
Check www.mods.dk what they have in files about "standard" faults on 930s.
That helps me, a great deal. At the end of the day, if everything else will
fail, you could always buy: either digital unit to be "corrected" on e-bay
or a fresh new unit with host of new features by PIEXX.

happy troubleshooting,

I was given a 'dead' 930S that had been back to Kenwood twice in the past
for what was supposed to have been bad soldering on some of the pc boards.
When powering up, the relay can be heard clicking, but no power to the
display etc.? Any suggestions on where to look when I pop the covers? This
is a fourth rig, so not needed on the bench, but I'd like to repair/get it
repaired and useable.
