John,
perhaps you need to set up the main tuning encode again. Your problem sounds
similar to some that I've seen where the tuning encoder has become
mis-aligned. The service manual has the procedure.

Good Day Fellows,
     I have a very good condition 930s with the Piexx digital board upgrade.
Have been using it for about a year now with no problems. Today I noticed
that when I turn the vfo the two digits on the right become blurred and the
frequency does not change. I can turn the dial about 1/8 of a rotation and
the frequency will not change. This does not do this all the time. What can
be starting to occur here?
