[Kenwood] 850 Noise Blanker ??

Ron,

What is strange is that the NB works *great* when the dimmers are on.  Cuts
the noise completely out and lets the signal in. It's just that the control
knobs do nothing to adjust it. I'm just wondering if this is correct or
maybe mine has the mod?

Should the 850 NB do anything to a normal signal when no noise is present?
