[Kenwood] Using SM-220 with TS-940

Congrats on the scope Chris.  In order to use the pan-adaptor, you only need the
RCA cable from the wideband 8.83 IF from the rig to the module, with the
function switch in the BandScope mode.   Connecting from the narrow-band IF to
the vertical input is not necessary for the bandscope function, it is only
necessary to monitor the RX signal (in the OSC function).

I'm not sure what the bandscope graticule looks like either.  The standard
graticule is a simple grid pattern 8x10.  You can use this graticule with either
function.  The bandscope graticule probably has a pattern that has a main
sub-divided axis on the bottom (instead of the middle) to form a good baseline
for the spectrum display.

I've found that the output waveform monitoring is most effective with the Sweep
speed adjusted fairly slow, just fast enough to remove the visible flicker.
This is on the 10-100 position, and the Sweep Var set to about 2 o'clock.  This
will give you enough voice peaks on screen simultaneously to allow you to
evaluate your modulation.

The SM-220 is a basic 10MHz scope, and differs from the HP scopes that you are
likely using in your class.  The HP scopes (and most analog scopes) are
triggered sweep scope, where the trace is initiated by a triggering event.  The
SM-220 is a recurrent sweep scope, where you have to manually adjust the sweep
speed to "synchronize" on a waveform to get a "stable" display.  This is fine
though for the monitoring use as it is intended.

I love mine, I use it all the time with a TS-870S and TS-830S.
