Well I pretty much traced it into the radio. When I bought this rig =
last year it was to be a backup to use during power failures for my 950. =
When I bought it, I took it and just ran it through a couple of simple =
tests just to see if it was working on all bands. Power output seemed a =
bit higher than my 450, but it transmitted and received well with the =
MC43 hand mic attached. Audio out was not as crisp as the 450 though and =
I figured it to be the hand mic.=20
When I converted my desk this month to make room for the 850 and my =
laptop, this is where I found the MC85 problem. Before this I was just =
using the standard hand mic. So as all things go a complete check might =
have found this right after I bought it and dealt with it then, but =
that's hindsight now. I don't have the equipment or the expertise to =
trace this kind of a board problem and after I opened it up last night =
and saw a few screws missing on some of the components, I decided I'd =
better have the "A" team go into it and fix it right. So Clif what is =
your work load?=20
Thanks for all the help. N1EW =20
