[Kenwood] sm-220 scope

 I have a question about the sm-220 with the b-8 pan adaptor.
 Will this function all right with a ts-950sdx,which has a  second if of 8.830.I was under the impression that the panadaptor was connected to the first If ,or does it not make any differance.Also using the 220 as a band scope will it perform anything near the bandscope on a 756pro?
 and are there any mods that will enhance the performance of the 220/ sdx combination.
