[Kenwood] TS-570S Heterodyne

I have checked that. The sound is coming from the speaker and it is
instantaneous.
As soon as I hit the PTT and release it the sound starts coming from the
speaker and does not stop until I cycle the power. As I stated it is not
very loud at all, but is enough that after a while it becomes very annoying
and I am concerned that something else is not exactly right and there may be
other underlying problems that I need to be aware of.
