SSB is a communications mode.  Studio quality does not make it easier to
communicate, but usually makes it more difficult to hear clearly, especially
if band conditions are not good.
     If one wants to be clearly heard, if one wants to not be unpleasant to
his fellow hams, and if one wants not to interfere with others who are 3 kHz
away, use the hand mic that came with the rig, or in case of the older
Kenwood rigs, use the hand mic that is recommended in the manual.  It is
called good operating practice.  It really is that simple.
