This discussion has become tiresome and IMHO needs to be moved off the
Kenwood list.  Why?  Because it is not Kenwood-specific. However such is
the decision of the list-mom(s) and that sure isn't me!

Can someone recommend a more appropriate list, please?

My two-cents worth is that Riley Hollingsworth (delegated arbiter of
what is acceptable conduct by privilege-not-right holders of Amateur
Radio licenses) has made it pretty clear that no matter what gear you
own you are not permitted to operate "broadband" on crowded HF Amateur
Radio bands ... period.

IF you have 2.4KHz or narrower transmit filters in your rig, and they
are working effectively, you should not be able to transmit broadband
signals.

IF you do not utilize transmit filters to prevent broadband
transmissions then you are required by the FCC to use other monitoring
methods to assure that you are not transmitting broadband.

This is all in the test every licensed Ham had to pass, and is also a
mandated condition-to-transmit referenced the regulations on every
license every Ham has signed.

The FCC could care less what microphone, processor, or rig you operate
... and quite frankly neither could fellow Hams ... except as the
mismatch of said equipment may lead to garbled transmissions that
degrade rather than enhance effective communication.
