[Kenwood] INDIGNITY

I honestly don't believe that Jean will accept our explanations of
Tim's Mark Twain quotations.  He'll attribute those comments to Tim
regardless of the facts; he'll continue to take umbrage at what was,
after all, one of the lightest and least offensive comments that Mark
Twain had regarding France and Frenchmen.

I should point out that my own opinions on the French are different
from those of Samuel Clemens, but this is what he really thought,
written, as you can plainly see, many years prior to my own birth:

Mark Twain on Americans in France

"The people of those foreign countries are very, very ignorant. They
looked curiously at the costumes we had brought from the wilds of
America. They observed that we talked loudly at the table sometimes.
They noticed that we looked out for expenses and got what we
conveniently could out of a franc, and wondered where in the mischief
