[Kenwood] Another (silly?) TM-221A pilot lamp question.

Hi.
Tonight I pulled the front panel off the TM-221A to ascertain the =
physical
size of the dial lamps in question.  After 'finally' figuring out that I =
had
to gently 'pry' the two front panel circuit boards apart (they're =
secured
together with double sided tape) to get in to where the pilot lamps are
soldered in.

Anyway, I read where this unit is supposed to have an amber display.  In
most cases of LCD lighting that I've seen the "color" of an otherwise =
opaque
or clear LCD display 'usually' comes from little rubber booties on the =
lamps
themselves.  These have none, just the clear glass.  I just got the =
radio
and have never seen it "lit up". =20

QUESTION:  Does this radio indeed get the amber color from little rubber
booties on the lamps themselves or is there something between the lamps =
and
the LCD to color the light?  IF the lamps are supposed to have the =
booties I
have a lot of green ones but no amber.  Perhaps I'll have the worlds =
only
TM-221A with a green display ;-)=20

There is a strong possibility that we may have the lamps down at the =
shop
where I work part time repairing stereos (another dying business), =
though
most of what I use down there are somewhat larger.=20
