Have had my 599D Twins since 1975 and have never experienced this
problem. What's the idling current? What's your typical plate current
readings after "dip and load"? Have you checked the 6146's/2001's for
possible gas or internal shorts? What frequencies are you operating
and/or seeing this problem. Adding higher wattage resistors won't solve
your problem. That's like, the AC fuse blew; let me keep adding higher
current fuses until they stop blowing.
