No, the real decrease in basic receiver performance came right after the
850/950 series. When Kenwood added DSP, that is when dynamic range and
interecept point numbers began to suffer.
This is not to say I'd never own a TS2000--I might, but I would be
prepared to accept lesser HF performance in exchange for versatility. Read
the QST reviews and compare the numbers, not the Kenwood specs.
