[Kenwood] Compact "Kitchen Sink" Mobile Rig?

It has struck me for some time now that Kenwood simply does not produce a
competition-grade radio like they did with the 930, 940 and 950. They seem
to be playing to the appliance guys who are more wowed by bells and whistles
than by great sensitivity, low S/N, selectivity and near-signal rejection.
