[Kenwood] Compact "Kitchen Sink" Mobile Rig?

hi folks  just a guess...  why would kenwood get into the one size does it
all market at this time...  simply look at the price of the 100d and mk2g..
started out at $1600..  now practically giving them away...  new in box..
$725 plus  a few options free?..  not a ton of profit...  just a guess..
