Hi All,
One of my TS-830S' has low output on SSB but CW output is normal.
50W peak ssb/ 120w cw. Doesn't sound like a tube problem. Swapped mics
and replaced driver tube to no avail. Any ideas before I send it off to
Clif for repair?
Second TS-830S has a problem returning to receive after transmitting...
A gentle smack of its top will usually bring it back to full receive.
I deduced that it was probably dirty RL-1 contacts so I removed the rig
from the case and searched out RL-1... Yikes! The relay appears to be
soldered in. Looks like I'll have to remove the board and unsolder the
relay to get at the contacts to clean them... Does the plastic case
come off of that relay so I could get to the contacts easier? Anyone
ever had these problems?
I sure would appreciate any input !
