[Kenwood] Buying a used kenwood

A good noise blanker handles line noise well. A DSP noise reduction
filter after the crystal filter can't do much because of the pulses of
line noise make the filter ring.

Some Kenwoods have a quite good noise blanker, some don't. Some have
built in antenna tuners, some don't in some it was an option. Filters
are often optional and depend on the modes and bands you wish to use.
Narrow filters may react to the pulses of line noise worse than the wide
filters.

A notch filter will do absolutely nothing for line noise and static, its
only effective on carrier interference.

I like the filters in my TenTec Corsair II because they don't ring on
noise like most crystal and mechanical filters. Makes it possible to
copy through static better.
