"Ahhyatt..can't get there from here" as they say up here in New England. 
The 870 has no plug in filters. It has a 3 khz filter which is hard wired 
in and not really useful in the 850 anyway because of its width. Most of 
the filtering in the 870 is done through digital synthesis in the 4th IF.

On the 850 it is easy, flip her over on her back and take the two screws 
out of that 5"by 7" trap door on the bottom.

Its pretty easy and the info is in your owners manual. You have to throw 
some dip switches after your done and those are accessed through the little 
door in the top of the 850.
