[Kenwood] filters

I have a ts870s that received lighting damage three or
four years ago(lighting did not come from antenna/coax).
I had damage to the alarm system's,hotwater heater, several
desktop type phones and the pc that was connected to
the 870. Electrician believes it came in the phone line or some
other source.
AVVid said it was not cost effective to repair.
I picked up a used ts850s.
question's
1. Will the filters in the 870 work ok in the 850. Assuming
they are not damaged.
2. Where are they located in the 870 and the 850.
3. Any tips on removing /installing the filters.
4. Assume this project is amateur (pun intended) do-able.
The stock 870 filters (250/500)are better in RTTY mode than the 850's.
