[Kenwood] TS-850S/AT Morse Error Signal ?

Last night I fired up the 850 for the first time in about 4 months to listen
in on the bands. They did not sound so good so I shut it off. Right now I
turned it on to check out 20M and I got a UL in morse code and the display
would show a frequency then go to all hyphens. I tried to change bands and
it would but the freuquency would go away and I would get another UL in
morse code.

I shut the radio off and then on again and the radio is behaving properly
except that the bands sound almost 100% dead. Since I have not been on in so
many months I don't know if this is normal, maybe a flare ? maybe a radio
problem ? I heard about 3-4 stations on 20, nothing on 18 Mhz and nothing on
15M and NOTHING AT ALL on 40M!
