i just received e-mail from JAPAN TO SAY THIS 
Kenwood has already terminated the production of TS-870 in Japan. 
no replacing to this radio at this moment.
 i am wondering if there was any prodaction in 2003  is any one out there 
from UK 
England that can tall me what s/n for 2003 how many digit ? 
that will be good information . 
i know as well that MOTOROLA  stop prodaction for DSP chip or any part that 
was in the 870 
well happy holiday
