The 440 has a hot receive on it, and with the right filters its a good
radio, but on the 440, be careful when buying and ask if the VCO's have ever
been repaired.
I had a 440 that VCO #1 went out and thought my problem was solved and just
a little over a year later, VCO #5 went out.
1st repair was $235.00...And I have yet to send the radio in to repair the
other VCO that went bad.
on the 450, thats the radio I'll get when I get my 440 fixed, then I
hopefully won't have the problems I had with the 440.
Just my opinion.
