You're correct. Back in the "good ol' days", the "standard" desk
mike for the 520/820, 530/830 series radios was the MC-50 and later the
MC-60, with a 4-pin connector. They were sold as optional accessories. I
used an MC-50 with my 820S and a Shure 444 (still have it!) with the
830S, until switching over to a boom headset, which I still use. Keep an
eye out for any of those mikes on the swaps, although most of them go
along with the radios when they're sold.
