Did the 530 come with a microphone? I have a TS-830s and the instruction
manual shows how to connect a microphone, but it does not show a mike as
part of the original package. I have had very good audio reports with a
standard MC-43 hand mike (the kind supplied by Kenwood with modern radios)
with an 8 pin to 4 pin converter as well as using a modular mobile mike
(used on the TM-V7A), and a commercial Kenwood mobile mike with an RJ-45 to
4 pin mike adapter. I made the latter with a section of CAT-5 network cable
into a 4 pin mike plug.

Looking for a microphone for the TS-530SP
I believe originals were the older MC50 or
MC60 with the 4 pin connector.
