[Kenwood] DSP100 Question

Once I hook up the DSP100 to a TS850, is there any switch/menu setting that must be activated for the rig to be controlled by the DSP100? 

I have hooked up the unit, but it appears that the rig doesn't know it is connected (i.e. all the controls seem to be disabled on the DSP100).

Any suggestions?
