Ray, I know what you mean about the -605tq I went through 3 of them and
now I have the TM-V7 and love it but I think it's going to disappear off
the market soon. have you seen or checked out the new Alinco dual
bander? I don't have the info in front of me but from what I've seen it
looks great and has a FAN like the -605tq needed. Check in to it Ray its
in the new ham magazines now. The blue screen on the TM-V7 still leaves
a lot to be desired espec. running mobile. I use mine as a base rig so
its fine. Good luck, 73 Mac...Ray just found my Dec QST the new Alinco
is the DR-620T check it out!!!!

  Got a question for the group. I am in need of a good, preferably
used, 2m/440 mobile radio. I *had* an Alinco 605, but it damaged
the 2m receiver side when the darned thing overheated during
a mobile QSO on high power. (sigh) So, it's outa here (already
spoken for, don't ask. :-)

  I'm looking at the following series of radios:

    TM-V7A;

    TM-733;

    TM-732;

  I think that any of them would work for me. What are their
specific strengths and weaknesses? Only thing I can see
offhand is that the V7A has the blue LCD.

  Or... if someone here has one to sell PDQ, let me know off
the list. I am looking for one, don't really want to consider
the "bay" but it is tempting. (I'm thinking of it as an early
holiday gift to myself. :-)

  Fire away! :-)
